Guidance on the Telephone Consumer Protection Act

This 22-minute course aims to provide mortgage loan originators (MLOs) with a comprehensive understanding of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and its implications for telemarketing and text messaging practices within the mortgage industry. Participants will learn the key provisions of the TCPA, including restrictions on telemarketing calls, the use of automatic telephone dialing systems, the use of text messages, and the deployment of artificial or prerecorded voice messages. By highlighting the importance of compliance with TCPA regulations, particularly in light of potential CFPB audits, this course will equip MLOs and their staff with the knowledge necessary to implement best practices in telemarketing and ensure adherence to consumer protection standards. Upon completion, participants will be better prepared to conduct compliant telemarketing efforts while respecting consumer privacy rights.
