Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices  (UDAAP) Compliance Course

This 30-minute course provides mortgage professionals with a comprehensive understanding of Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) as outlined by the CFPB. Participants will learn how to identify and assess whether an act qualifies as unfair, deceptive, or abusive, with real-world examples to illustrate these practices. Additionally, the course will emphasize the importance of addressing consumer complaints and maintaining compliance with UDAAP regulations as part of the TILA training requirements for all staff members.  The following topics will be covered:

  • A breakdown of the DFA’s standard for unfairness;
  • The Four P’s Test;
  • Abusive behaviors under the DFA;
  • The CFPB’s policy statement on abusive acts & practices;
  • Examples of unfair or deceptive acts;
  • The Role of Consumer Complaints;
  • UDAAP’s Relationship with TILA;
