SAFE 20 Hour OIL SAFE Comprehensive Fundamentals of Mortgage PE

The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) has approved this SAFE20 Hour OIL (online instructor-led) pre-licensing education course with approval #2945. This course fulfills the twenty (20) hours of required pre-licensure requirements established under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).

SAFE20 Hour OIL Course Required Content

The course content meets the pre-licensing education requirement of the SAFE Act of 2008 to include:

• Three (3) hours of federal law and regulations;
• Three (3) hours of ethics, which shall include instruction on fraud, consumer protection and fair lending issues;
•  Two (2) hours of training related to lending standards for the nontraditional mortgage product marketplace;
• Twelve (12) hours of electives;

SAFE20 Hour OIL Course Information

The SAFE 20 pre-licensing comprehensive online self-study course delivers content in 12 modules over a scheduled start and end time. The course opens at 12 PM EST on the scheduled start date and remains accessible for 7 consecutive days, closing at 12 PM EST on the scheduled end date. Throughout the 7-day period, you will have online access to the course, interactive exercises, practice quizzes, and discussion assignments.

This course offers text, video, audio, quizzes, case studies, and assignments. The instruction focuses on interaction between the instructor and student, as well as student-to-student interaction through thought-provoking course discussions. As mandated by the NMLS, the course is timed and concludes with students completing a survey and final exam, known as the end-of-course assessment. To receive credit for completing the course, students must fulfill all assignments and are encouraged to seek their instructor’s guidance.

Along with the Online Course, the cost of this course includes an ungraded practice test, a graded practice test, and content that covers the Uniform State Test (UST).
